Utah Chiefs of Police Association Announces 2025 Annual Conference

ST. GEORGE — The Utah Chiefs of Police Association (UCOPA) will be hosting its annual 2025 Conference next week.

The 2025 UCOPA Conference begins on Monday, March 24 through Wednesday, March 26, at the Dixie Convention Center in St. George. This event allows member departments to network, share ideas, collaborate, educate, and learn about a variety of best policing practices, resources, and programs across the state.

The conference features a variety of presentations and speakers from across the nation. The 3-day event also includes the golf tournament, the annual banquet featuring an award ceremony, and a keynote speaker presentation.

This year’s keynote speaker is the International Association of Police Chiefs (I.A.C.P.) President, Chief Ken Walker.

UCOPA will also be highlighting the recruitment and retention campaign, Find Yourself In Utah, which aims to address the hiring struggles with a focus on attracting new recruits from both within the state of Utah and beyond.

The campaign features diverse opportunities for both sworn and civilian positions across the state. Find Yourself in Utah is focused on the next generation of police officers, deputy sheriffs, state troopers, wildlife resource officers, corrections officers, and beyond, while showcasing everything that Utah has to offer individuals and families.

“I would like to thank all of our sponsors and member departments, especially the Executive Board for their assistance in the organization of this year’s annual conference,” said UCOPA President Brian Gwilliam. “I look forward to sharing UCOPA’s new programs, including our recruitment campaign, Find Yourself in Utah. This conference serves as a platform for law enforcement personnel to come together and collaborate in making Utah a safe place for all who live and work here. UCOPA is committed to providing our members with the most up-to-date programs, policies, and strategies so that they can effectively serve their communities. We look forward to seeing everyone at this year’s conference.”

UCOPA is a state-wide member organization, comprised of law enforcement leaders united over a common goal of protecting and serving their communities and greater Utah.
